About my classes
I like to think that my classes are personal, inclusive and unique. I encourage observation, inquiry, awareness, openness, creativity, self exploration as well as self expression. Our yoga practice can teach us so much about ourselves and how we can both live and communicate more skilfully in our day to day lives. My intention is for my students to experience a higher state of consciousness so that they feel empowered, inspired and relaxed at the end of every class. I try to teach with authenticity from what I intuitively feel is needed in each individual session, whether it’s philosophy, anatomical focus, breath work or yoga nidra.
I always place a strong emphasis on awareness of breath, integrated with correct postural alignment of our bones and muscles, which in turn encourages therapeutic as well as energetic healing for the inner and outer body. This deepens our relationship with our innermost self because when the energy of the breath (prana) flows without obstruction within our bodies, we feel a sense of freedom from both physical, emotional and mental tension. In turn this encourages us to feel more open, more confident, vibrant, stronger and lighter both in body and mind.
There are no prerequisites to practicing yoga, no matter what strength, flexibility, size or age, I welcome and invite students of all ability to be open to all possibilities, embrace and expand your experience of yoga and life.

Adaptations and modifications will be always be given for those less flexible or advanced. Expect to be taught strong finely tuned alignment technique, to build strength as well as gain flexibility and be inspired. You will be guided in to a flowing, creative and carefully planned sequence, that will guide you towards an advanced apex pose, this class is challenging but always fun!
Yin is a passive, quiet, meditative practice, but can also be quite intense and challenging. The purpose is to apply moderate stress to the connective tissue, the tendons, fascia and ligaments, with the aim of increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility. Yin consists of mostly seated postures which encourage a feeling of release and letting go.
