There’s a quieter, more soulful presence that comes from being arched, rolled, softened and nurtured deep within the curl of a long, deep forward bend. Although I love back bends, mostly my body prefers to fold forwards especially when feeling frazzled. When I fold forwards, I’m back home with myself, I settle down and fall away from stress, my nose nestles toward my legs and my mind sinks into darkness, into the unknown, surrender and release. I stop grasping, reaching and trying too hard and remember sometimes the simple things in life are often more rewarding, less can be more.
Then after I emerge I feel like I’ve woken from a blissful sleep, humbled, a little taller, more grounded, calmer, peaceful and ready to be carried through another day.
