So we are in the wake of David Bowie’s death, he was a hero to so many of us and he really was an absolute rock legend extraordinaire of all time. ‘Turn and Face the Strange’, what great words to live our lives by. These lyrics inspired me way back when I first heard them but they inspire me so much more today when I listen to them again. This song was about defying our critics and having the courage to believe in ourselves in order to step out in our own unique way. Sometimes we have to adjust and be open to the frequent metamorphosis’s that we have to make in this constantly changing world of today. That was Bowie all over, he loved to embrace artistic chameleon reinvention.

Time is meaningless and impermanence is inevitable, the world is constantly shifting and changing and if we don’t want to get left behind, we have to acclimatise ourselves with it, sometimes that involves taking a leap of faith, leaving our comfort zone and trusting whatever whatever the future holds. When you consciously embrace change wholeheartedly as an inevitable part of life and align your focus to creatively seek different ways to utilize new changes, your life will embody ease and abundance. “Progress is impossible without change.

Turn and face the strange
Pretty soon now you’re gonna get older
Time may change me
But I can’t trace time I said that time may change me
But I can’t trace time….

Bowie’s life was well-lived, music, adventure and always change, his death was no different from his life – he went with the flow of it and made it a work of art.

Each of us also has the opportunity to change and grow until our very last breath too – if we wish to…..Always be ready to expect the unexpected….

Classes this week will be themed ‘Turn and Face the Strange’
