Yoga is what keeps me young at heart. Don’t get me wrong, I have saggy bits, I have cellulite and wrinkles so I may not look so young on the outside but – Yoga keeps me young in the only way that counts on the inside. Through the practice of paying attention, integration of breath with movement, the practice of letting go, and learning how to correctly align my muscles and bones; yoga gives me;

undisturbed sleep every night,
flexibility and strength of body,
young organs,
a young nervous system,
decreased heart rate,
decreased blood sugar levels,
the ability to stay calm in any situation (most of the time)
yoga empowers me,
and most importantly, it gives me a Young out look.

Yoga has taught me to live my life with every fibre of my being. As I practice yoga, I become more and more aware and mindful; mindfulness has taught me to slow down, take stock and then I notice even more. In turn that offers me more energy, more vitality, it uplifts my mood and encourages me to see myself, others and the world with a little more love in my heart.

Age is just a number; it doesn’t define who you are, how you should behave or what you should do. Being young at heart is to glow from the inside out, it’s the way you look at the world, it’s the way your body moves, it’s the way you smile and your eyes glisten, its the way you are able to step out of your comfort zone and embrace all possibilities with openness and light heartedness. Being young at heart attracts others to you of all ages. My son and daughter are so cool with me and my partner hanging out with their friends when they come over – aged 20 – 22 – and they also hang out with our friends too.

Remember where Attention Goes ~~~~~~Energy Flows ~~~~~~~
If you really want to know how old you are, don’t look at your birth date, the number of grey hairs you have, wrinkles, lumpy bits or excess weight –forget all of that. Being young at heart and being happy is a lifestyle choice, let go of the past, let go of conforming to how society dictates you to look and behave. Don’t forget who you really are, be happy with that, live your truth, use your talent, be kind, have fun, change your perspective, be passionate about living. Truly live get out there, travel, play, follow your dreams, be silly, belly laugh, turn yourself upside down once in a while and know that it’s never ever too late to start
